Channing Tatum has been praying to god for the MCU to make a Gambit solo movie. And now, it seems like his wish is just one step closer to coming true, thanks to the sudden appearance of a “Marvel Sparkle Circle” in Gambit’s life. Ryan Reynolds shared a new Gambit scene from Deadpool & Wolverine which should delight Gambit’s many fans. This actually isn’t a new or deleted Gambit scene from Deadpool & Wolverine; instead, Ryan Reynolds shares that “A version of the sequence is in the film — on one of the monitors in the deep background of the TVA.” That version of the Gambit scene, however, doesn’t show us what this one does. As he’s walking through the remains of a battle, Gambit sees a sling ring portal opening for him in the sky. This scene doesn’t necessarily mean a Gambit solo movie is coming to the MCU, but it certainly implies that it could.
You can watch the new Gambit scene from Deadpool & Wolverine below.
The version of the scene in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie confirmed that Gambit remained alive after the gory fight in the Void with Cassandra Nova’s forces. But this new take on it reveals that Gambit is no longer stuck in the Void; instead, he’s welcomed out of it by a Marvel Sparkle Circle. That means after this scene, Channing Tatum’s Gambit can leave behind no man’s land and head to… well, his own solo movie if the Marvel gods wish for it to happen and/or anywhere in the multiverse.
Overall, Deadpool & Wolverine served as a goodbye to the 20th Century Fox versions of the X-Men characters. But it must be said that Gambit never really got his day in the sun. And so we suppose it would be okay, and kind of expected, for Marvel Studios to bring him back in an MCU movie, given his popularity after Deadpool & Wolverine.
Of course, as we said, just because Channing Tatum’s Gambit sees a sling-ring portal welcoming him to step back into the greater MCU in this new scene doesn’t mean he absolutely will. But whether or not we get to see it, we feel glad for Gambit that he can leave behind the Void.
