Netflix’s DARK Gets An Ominous Trailer for Season 2

Strangers Things might get the lion’s share of pop culture attention, but Netflix also has another extremely cool sci-fi mystery drama that is just as intriguing: the German language series, Dark. Set in the small town of Winden in rural Germany, season one focused on a group of mysterious disappearances. This opened up bigger mysteries involving time travel, wormholes, and lots of family drama. It’s like Stranger Things, Twin Peaks and Donnie Darko had a wonderfully strange baby.

Netflix has now released the trailer for the second season of the series, which debuts on June 21.

The new trailer drops several clues about what we’ll be seeing when the new season hits. It suggests that the events of this series repeat in some cycle, and we are about to enter the second of three of these cycles. The show was renewed for three seasons total.

The first season debuted in December of 2017, but the “present time” took place in June of 2019. And with the June debut of the next season, everything is going to plan.

Things look downright Apocalyptic in season two, and given the time-bendy nature of the first season, a re-watch might be in order before you start your season two binge. There’s a lot to take in with this show. There are three separate time periods to contend with in season one: 2019, 1986, and 1953. Will we visit those same time periods in season two, or are things about to get even weirder? We’ll find out when Dark season two hits theaters on June 21.
