Playtime is about to get more scientific on Disney Junior’s Muppet BabiesOpens in a new tab because Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker are coming into the picture. The two pint-sized scientists are making their debut in the reboot soon, and we have an exclusive look at the first time Nanny (voiced by Jenny SlateOpens in a new tab) introduces the duo to Summer, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Kermit, and Miss Piggy. It’s a short clip, but you can see so many personality traits at play: Bunsen dropping fun facts, Miss Piggy being bossy, Fozzie trying to lift Summer up and make her feel better about herself, Summer being insecure about her stature. The scene takes me back to life on the playground.
Anyway. Baking is precise, so I imagine Bunsen and Beaker would be a tremendous help in measuring and mixing. (Well, Bunsen would.) Beaker has a knack for making a mess, though you have to give him respect for always having beakers with him so he can conduct (and perhaps mess up) experiments at any given time. And whatever Beaker’s flaws may be, he can always make up for them with a cute, “Meep meep.”
