Mondo Releasing New Pop Culture 1000-Piece Poster Puzzles

We never would have guessed puzzles would be one of the most sought after items during a global pandemic. But with so many of us relegated to our homes for the foreseeable future, they’re a fun and challenging way to help fill all these many hours indoors. But no matter how much we might like them, we can only do the same puzzle so many times. Fortunately we’ll soon have more options. Mondo has announced it is turning some of its original posters into collectible puzzles.

Mondo is offering fans “a second chance” at owning some of its custom art posters. The company is transforming them into “premium 1000-piece puzzles.” First they’ll help us get through these difficult times. Then (with the help of puzzle glue) they’ll make for fantastic art for our walls.

The list of new puzzles includes:

Die Hard (art by 100% Soft)
G.I. Joe: Cobra Wants You! (art by Jason Edmiston)
Gremlins (art by Matt Ryan Tobin)
Home Alone (art by DKNG)
Captain America: The First Avenger (art by Rory Kurtz)
The Iron Giant (art by DKNG)
Dungeons & Dragons (featuring iconic art from the D&D archives)
Jurassic Park (art by Francesco Francavilla)

These are legitimately beautiful but geez, some of these are going to be hard to put together. That Gremlins image is going to keep us up at night. Not because we’re scared of Gremlins. It’s just a really difficult looking puzzle. Even the one that appears to be “easiest,” the Dungeons & Dragons poster, is full of words. At the end, we’re going to have a hundred red pieces that all look identical.

We didn’t expect to need puzzles to survive a global pandemic. But that’s a good thing. Working on gorgeous puzzles is much better than what we thought we’d have to do.
