MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE Shares Tense and Intense Trailer

Nothing lasts forever. If anyone or anything seemingly had a chance to, though, it was Ethan Hunt and the Mission: Impossible franchise. Somehow a blockbuster series based on an old ’60s television show just keeps getting better and better with age. But even if we’d like these movies to be made forever, this franchise is opting to go out on top. It will soon begin its big farewell with the first half of a two-movie finale. We’ll be sad to see Tom Cruise’s super secret agent go. But after Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One‘s latest trailer, we really can’t wait to see what he has in store for his last task.

Because if this is just the trailer for the next Mission: Impossible movie, we can’t even imagine what the whole film has in store for us.

Is everyone really sure they want to stop making these movies? Because we probably would have paid just to see this Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailer. It’s not just an incredible promo, though. It’s our best look yet at what to expect from a film that will have direct tie-ins and characters from the original. We also finally have an official synopsis for the upcoming movie.

From Paramount Pictures:

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Written and directed once again by Christopher McQuarrie, the franchise’s seventh installment might boast its best cast ever. This Mission: Impossible cast includes Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt, Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, and Mark Gatiss. And we definitely see these players in action in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

We doubt all of their characters will return for Part Two. We’d like all of them to come back for parts three, four, five, etc, though. We wish Ethan Hunt and this franchise would last forever.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One releases in theaters July 12.
