Watch THE LEGEND OF KORRA Stars Reunite for Live-Stream Table Read

We love The Legend of Korra! The follow-up to Nickeldeon’s brilliant Avatar: The Last Airbender was set 70 years after that show and centered on the titular young woman as she journeyed to Republic City in order to become the Avatar. Like many fans, we were obsessed with the relationship Korra and her eventual girlfriend Asami. Well, good news Korrasami diehards, the amazing voice actors who bought the pair to life are reuniting for a table read of the comic that made the couple truly canon, Dark Horse’s The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars!

Though the show only alluded to the relationship with a scene showing the pair holding hands, the follow-up comic made their love canon. The gorgeous graphic novel—created by Irene Koh, Michael Dante DiMartino, Vivian NG, and Nate Pikos—centers on Korra and Asami on a romantic holiday in the spirit realm, which is cut short when Korra is accosted by a spirit who is unhappy about her creating new spirit portals. The fantasy comic does what all great genre titles do best, using its magical setting and story to deal with gentrification, the refugee crisis, homelessness, and more.

It’s a great read but what is most exciting is that it finally makes the Korrasami ship true canon. We get to see the pair in love, supporting each other, and living their lives together.

That’s why we’re so excited about this live read news. It will be the first time that the voice actors of the perfect pair, Janet Varney (Korra), and Seychelle Gabriel (Asami) will actually get to play the characters as a canon couple. We are so excited to hear the talented women turn return to these roles, especially with this brilliant source material to play with! There will also be a Q&A with Varney and Gabriel, plus Dark Horse will make an excerpt of the comic available on their site on the day of the table read!

You can tune into the live stream Monday the 6th at 2pm PST on Dark Horse’s Twitch Channel.
