JUMANJI: OPEN WORLD Trailer: Most Dangerous Game Night Yet

I’m a board game guy, but at this point even I’m starting to think you probably shouldn’t play Jumanji. I know, I know, but hear me out. Sure, it has a good theme and game design. No denying any of that. Thing is—and this goes for the video game version, too—it also sucks you into a magical fantasy realm full of animals and ruffians trying to literally kill you. And if you can’t beat it? The game will trap you inside for decades. Doesn’t seem worth the risk when I can instead spend a peaceful night with another round of Agricola, instead. But getting sucked into a dangerous jungle dimension is the least of anyone’s problems in the franchise’s next big-screen outing. The new trailer for Jumanji: Open World is making everyone play, as worlds collide in the most dangerous game ever.

See? I’m telling you: don’t play Jumanji. Forget getting trapped in the game for generations. And forget just letting a few hunters and wild animals into our world. You might accidentally open a portal between dimensions. Then your mom, who now inhabits the body of Dwayne Johnson, could end up being our best hope for survival. And that is what is going to happen in the third and final film in this modern-day reboot of the franchise. Alongside the trailer, here is the official synopsis of Jumanji: Open World from Sony Pictures Entertainment:

This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy. Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.

When Will Jumanji: Open World Release?

Will Jumanji finally best our best players? And will someone finally realize nobody should ever play Jumanji, in any form, ever again? We’ll find out when Jumanji: Open World opens in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, 2026.
