The grizzled shark hunter Quint, played by Robert Shaw, is easily the most memorable characters in Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Not only that, but he’s one of the most memorable characters in cinema history, period. Who can outdo an introduction like Quint’s, running his fingernails down a chalkboard just to get the town of Amity’s attention? Such a screen icon is worthy of a great toy. And thanks to the folks at NECA, we’re soon getting exactly the one we’ve been waiting for.

Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting, we have our first images of a new 8″ figure based on Quint from NECA. that is one of the most screen-accurate Jaws figures made so far. So if you want to have a place of honor for that ol’ sea dog Sam Quint, then we can’t think of one better than perching this bad ass figure on your shelf. You can check out the first images of the new screen-accurate action figure down below.

Accessories for the deluxe Quint action figure include a machete, baseball bat, rifle, spear gun, as well as a can of Narragansett beer. From the images, it appears he also has a removable hat and a removable bandana. Collector’s can pose Quint in a variety of ways, reenacting his last stand on the S.S. Orca. (Shark toy not included) One could always pose him like he’s kicking back and telling you about the harrowing story of the U.S.S. Indianapolis too.

Roy Scheider’s Sheriff Brody was meant to come out as an action figure as well. Now it seems as if plans for the Brody figure have been cancelled. Usually when things like this happen, it’s because likeness rights did not get acquired in time. Perhaps NECA will have a chance to revisit that figure in the future. While they’re at it, make a action figure for Richard Dreyfuss’s Hooper and complete the main Jaws trio. Now, who can’t get “Show Me the Way to Go Home” out of their heads?

The Quint figure from NECA is expected to arrive sometime later this year. For more information, be sure to head on over to the official NECA site.
