Into the Dark is keeping the horror fun going when season two drops on October 4. For those who aren’t familiar, the Hulu anthology series debuted in October 2018 with an interesting format: one scary story released each month to correspond with holidays like International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas. The final season one installment just dropped in early September but, as reported by Deadline, Into the Dark is already geared up for spooky season with a ton of information about season two’s first episode. The cast, the plot, and a teaser are all a part of the package, so here’s the breakdown.
The Purge’s Adelaide Kane will join Halloween alum Dylan Arnold, Evan Bittencourt (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), rising actress Paige McGhee, Jacques Colimon (Netflix’s The Society), and Georgie Flores (Dumplin‘) for the Halloween-themed “Uncanny Annie.” The actors play college students whose fears become real in a board game come to life. The only way to survive this game is to play to win and, well, there can only be one winner, right?
The teaser shows the gang hanging out in a dark house as they break out Annie’s “box of fun,” which tells them to “play along until you see the sun.” Everyone ignores that red flag and rolls the dice to see what thrills will come out of this game. Things escalate quickly when they realize the house they are currently in exists in this fictional world. One girl devises that they have to keep playing to stay alive—which isn’t easy with murderous figures lurking at every corner. Predictably, someone dies and all panic ensues.
Will anyone beat Annie at her killer game and come out alive? Or, are they all doomed to die on Halloween night? The answers are on the way.
