When it comes to places that we simply do not wish to go, the Further is near the top of our list. This vast and very scary dimension from the Insidious franchise is absolutely terrifying and very much so unsafe. It just might be scarier than going to the Department of Motor Vehicles, which is its own horror story. Now, just imagine if the Further was able to exist in the real world. Well, you don’t have to imagine any more. Insidious: Out of the Further takes it up a notch with its final trailer and brings the Further into our world. We hate that for these characters.
Amelia Eve is Gemma, a young mom who is raising her daughter in the house she grew up in. Gemma soon discovers she can travel into the Further, and that’s not good for anyone. But her story takes an interesting twist when she realizes that she can bring what lives in that dimension out of it. Now, all the scary a** demons and things there are ready to come and play in her house. Predictably, this puts Gemma and her child in a very dangerous predicament.
2026 continues to be a year where horror is shining, with the success of Backrooms and Obsession. But it has also had its not-so-great offerings like Scream 7. It seems that this year is where creepypasta, dark magic, and psychological horror trumps slashers. And if the trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further is any indication, this film will be yet another win for the enduring franchise.
