In 2026, fire and blood will once again wash over Westeros. House of the Dragon‘s third season promises to be its deadliest, most action-packed installment yet. That much is certainly on display in the first footage from the season. HBO’s reel about what viewers can expect next year features insights into what we can expect when House Targaryen continues to wage war against itself. You can check out our first-look clips of House of the Dragon season three in the 2026 teaser trailer below.
HBO and HBO Max’s “Coming in 2026” teaser reel includes footage from tons of shows that will debut next year. That includes returning series like Euphoria, The Pitt, Industry, Gilded Age, Hacks, and The Comeback, as well as new shows like Lanterns, a still untitled Larry David comedy, DTF St Louis, Rooster, and more.
There’s even a reminder that HBO’s second Game of Thrones prequel spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will debut early next year. But we’ve seen most of that footage. This 2026 trailer is the first time we’ve seen anything from House of the Dragon season three. In this promo, we see Alicent having an unusually tender moment with her son Aemond, Ser Corlys Velaryon in the middle of a battle, soldiers falling in a fight, House Hightower ready for war, and Queen Rhaenyra looking determined as she plots her next move. We also hear both Alicent and Corlys narrating the action.

Although it’s not a lot in terms of actual footage, this 2026 trailer footage from House of the Dragon does highlight just how violent season three promises to be. Some big battles are on the horizon in Westeros. Armies have amassed, and they all want to seat their monarch on the Iron Thrones. Fire and blood will soon fill both the streets and the skies over Westeros. Because while they might not have made an appearance in this teaser, dragons still loom large over the Seven Kingdoms.
House of the Dragon season three will arrive in the summer of 2026, and this first-look footage is only just a taste of the tumult it will bring.
