Lead Mandalore with Hasbro’s Darksaber Force FX Elite Lightsaber

The Darksaber has come to play a key part in the galaxy far, far away since Star Wars: The Clone Wars introduced it. With its story continuing in Star Wars Rebels and now The Mandalorian, it only makes sense that Hasbro would make a toy version of the fearsome weapon. The toy company’s latest iteration on the coolest Star Wars lightsaber ever is a Black Series Force FX Elite version. The collectible is a screen-accurate replica of the Mandalorian Darksaber with an impressive white-edged black glowing blade. It is gorgeous.

The Darksaber Black Series Force FX Elite Lightsaber comes with advanced LEDs and lightsaber sound effects from the series. While it does make realistic sounds when you strike it against something, I wouldn’t call it a toy. This beauty is something you display on a shelf and activate for the occasional midday break and/or selfie. In other words, yes, you can play with this Hasbro Darksaber, but it’s so detailed and gorgeous, you wouldn’t want to risk breaking it. (Hasbro recommends it for ages 14 and up).

With the heft of its metal hilt and the first-ever Force FX Elite Lightsaber white LED blade edge, the Darksaber is striking. It’s more than I would expect for a widely available lightsaber. The quality is superior to the lightsabers you can purchase at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which are the only mass mark lightsabers I find comparable. You can separate the Darksaber’s blade and hilt for display purposes too. Overall, it is the closest you can get to leading Mandalore without being Bo-Katan Kryze.

And if you pair the Darksaber with Hasbro’s equally high-quality Bo-Katan Kryze Electronic Helmet, you will be ready to rule. The helmet comes with an illuminated heads-up display and a flip-down rangefinder. While I wouldn’t wear the helmet for hours as part of a costume, it’s ideal for display and for photos. Hasbro has information on where to purchase both the Darksaber and the helmet in its online shop.
