Halle Berry Gives Update on Potential JOHN WICK Spinoff with Sofia

The John Wick universe continues to expand with offerings like Under the High Table, a sequel to the franchise’s fourth film, as well as upcoming movies like John Wick Presents: Ballerina. The latter takes place between the events of the third and fourth films and follows a new assassin set on revenge. It seems there’s plenty of space for spinoffs in this universe and, when it comes to what fans want to see, many would love for Halle Berry’s Sofia to get another round. She was introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and it seemed her story would tie closely into John’s with her daughter being in danger. However, that’s not the story we got in the fourth movie. But, Halle Berry says there have been talks of a John Wick spinoff with Sofia and hopes it will happen sooner rather than later.

Berry spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and opened up about whether Sofia and John Wick will be on screen together again. She certainly wished a storyline between them happened in the last film but is still willing to explore it in the future. “Yeah, I wish that would’ve happened, but that’s not the route they went,” said Berry about Chapter 3. “I thought that would’ve been a cool storyline. We talked about it, that’s for sure. We seeded it in John Wick: Chapter 3, and we’ve talked about a spinoff with Lionsgate that could potentially happen. We need to do it sooner than later, but that could potentially happen. And I love that universe. I love John Wick and I loved that character, so you never know. We’ll see.”

Hopefully Sofia and her awesome attack dogs will return to the John Wick universe one day. Because let’s face it, we are far from done when it comes to exploring this assassin-laded world.
