First 2 Episodes of X-MEN ’97 Season 1 Available for Free

After a long two-year wait, X-Men ’97 season two is just around the corner. But it’s quite possible you didn’t catch season one when Disney+ premiered it back in 2024. Since it’s (upsettingly) not available on physical media yet, and you might not want to pay for a Disney+ subscription just to sample it, you’re now in luck. Right now, the official Marvel YouTube channel has the first two episodes of X-Men ’97 available for free. If you missed them before, now is the perfect time to return to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters (Under New Management). You can watch episode one in full below:

The first episode of the series had one of the best X-Men action sequences of all time. It showcased the team, without the guidance of Professor Xavier, taking on a group of robotic Sentinels together. It really showed off how powerful the team’s two co-captains, Cyclops and Storm, really are. After getting sidelined for “the Wolverine show” that was the Fox X-Men movies, it was amazing to see Scott Summers and Ororo Munro really show off their Omega-level mutant powers. And in a way that few fans had seen since the days of the ’90s cartoon. It was about time, too!

The second episode of X-Men ’97 season one is also now available for free. And this one features the birth of Scott and Jean’s son, Nathan. A character that Marvel Comics fans know as the warrior from the future, Cable. Actually, we should say, the birth of the son of Scott and Madelyne Pryor, Jean’s clone. If Marvel Animation uploads episode three as well, then you’ll learn all about the saga of Jean Grey and her powerful clone. Hopefully, they upload the entire first season to YouTube over time, although that might be asking for a lot.

Season 2 of X-Men ’97 hits Disney+ on July 1.
