It's 2018, so that means it's the 25th anniversary of The X-Files. The recently concluded eleventh season is said to be the last revival season for the show, fans now have a new way to celebrate Chris Carter's legendary science-fiction series in style. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we've learned Mattel Toys is producing a special commemorative 25th Anniversary X-Files edition of Barbie and Ken, dressed to look like Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
X-Files Barbie have been released before, but these new ones look much more like a younger, 1993 era David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The previous dolls were released 1998 to coincide with the theatrical release of the original X-Files movie, Fight the Future. But those dolls from twenty years ago looked like Barbie and Ken were wearing X-Files cosplay, so these new designs are far superior. These would look ideal on any fan's shelf, especially right next to the Scooby-Doo gang collector's series Barbie dolls, where you can imagine them solving spooky mysteries together. You can purchase the X-Files dolls from Fox.
In addition, Fox is offering loyal fans of The X-Files an opportunity to show off their trivia skills in regards to the series. From now until September 3, “The Truth Is Out There Trivia Contest” allows fans to submit their own trivia questions to Shop.Fox.com. On the show’s official anniversary date of September 10, the contest will officially launch on the site. Fans who correctly answer the most questions will be entered to win an X-Files prize package including these cool new Barbie dolls.
Will these new X-Files Barbie dolls be decorating your shelves? Be sure to let us know down in the comments.
