The previously rumored pact between Fox and Disney has become a reality. In a multi-billion dollar deal (mere pocket change for Scrooge McDuck), Disney is acquiring almost all of Fox’s film and TV properties. That means the X-Men and Fantastic Four are probably/finally on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But where does that leave Deadpool? Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth may present a challenge to Disney’s family friendly brand. But today’s Nerdist News is offering up some hope that Wade Wilson won’t lose his R-rated voice when he joins the House of Mouse.Join host and time-traveling mutant cyborg, Jessica Chobot, as she goes over some of the promising signs that there’s still a bright future ahead for Deadpool 2 and any potential sequels beyond that. Disney CEO Bob Iger even mentioned Deadpool by name when he said that there may still be room for R-rated Marvel movies after the merger.[brightcove video_id=”5680609210001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”rJs2ZD8x”]Like any business, Disney is designed to make money. In the extremely unlikely event that Deadpool 2 bombs in theaters, Disney might rethink that R-rated approach, but not a moment before. Because it’s about the money, y’all. Always. How do you feel about Deadpool’s future under Disney and Marvel Studios? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
