Death of a Unicorn is A24’s next foray into weird territory. The film stars Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd as a daughter-dad duo who are on their way to a weekend retreat. Things are going pretty well until they hit a very strange and big animal. Well, they soon discover that it was a unicorn. And, of course, his billionaire boss wants to make a profit. But, as we see in Death of a Unicorn’s trailer, these magical animals are not as sweet as humans imagine them to be.
This isn’t the first look we’ve had at the film. But, while the first trailer leaned more into humor, this Death of a Unicorn one leans more towards the dread and gore. It’s still pretty obvious that this is a horror comedy film, but I like the idea of murderous unicorns.
It sounds like a fun movie to watch, but also a weird band name. I also dig the idea of unicorns having the ability to heal all the world’s ailments, hence the reason they are so rare and magical. Honestly, their best bet is to stay far away from humanity. We (as a collective) totally suck.
What Is the Release Date for Death of a Unicorn?
We may never find an actual unicorn, but we can watch Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd fight for their lives against one with Death of a Unicorn hits theaters on March 28.
