Exclusive THE DARK CRYSTAL Blu-ray Clip Highlights Jim Henson’s Collaborative Methods

The Dark Crystal and all its magic came into the world 36 years ago. Directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, this wonderscape of quests, legends, and incredible beings did unquantifiable good for the imaginations of children in the ’80s—and continues to do the same! And today, March 6, the movie is debuting on 4K Ultra HD and returning to Blu-ray and digital with an all-new featurette. We have an exclusive look at that featurette, “The Myth, Magic and Henson Legacy,” and the footage highlights how Henson worked with Oz and Brian Froud to create the world.

Adding the visions of Oz and Froud meant opening the story to a wider range of perspectives. They expanded the foundation. The fantasy of the Skesis, Mystics, and Gelfings wouldn’t have been the same without the collaboration behind the scenes.

Will you be picking up another copy of The Dark Crystal today? Or maybe you’ll be introducing your kids to it for the first time? Make your own prophecy and tell us in the comments.
