CYBERPUNK 2077 Releases an Exciting 48-Minute Gameplay Demo

It’s been an excruciating wait for  Cyberpunk 2077 since CD Projekt Red announced the futuristic open world game over five years ago. Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game, though set 57 years later, in an era where the technology has evolved far beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Only select members of the press saw Cyberpunk 2077‘s E3 2018 demo, which offered a tantalizing glimpse of what lies ahead. Now, CD Projekt Red has unleashed an epic 48-minute video that fully unveils Cyberpunk 2077‘s gameplay. And this is a world we can’t wait to explore.

At the start of the video, viewers are shown a few of the customization options for V, the main character. For this demo, V was a female character accompanied by her partner, Jackie, on a mission to find a missing girl. There are some truly wild options for V, including mantis-like attachments that turn her arms into deadly weapons. Some of the weapons of the future also eliminate the enemy’s ability to hide behind cover thanks to bullets that track their movements. However, that technology could easily be used against the players as well.

One of the other standout sequences in the demo featured V and Jackie in their car when a rival gang recognized them and attempted to take them out during a high-speed car chase. It’s an intense sequence that takes V and Jackie from danger to danger, as the end of one threat leads directly into another. We also get to see the duo take on a boss whose firepower far exceeds their own. Fortunately, they have a strategy that allows them to overcome that particular hurdle.

This is simply a small sampling of the info provided by the video. You’re just going to have to watch the entire clip to get the rest, but it’s well worth your time. CD Projekt Red hasn’t announced a release date for Cyberpunk 2077, but pre-orders are now live for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
