Anne Hathaway Is Iconic in A24’s MOTHER MARY Trailer

Any time someone is willing to hand Anne Hathaway a microphone, we’re all ears. Adorned with a fabulous crown, Hathaway dazzles on stage in A24’s beguiling second trailer for Mother Mary. Fame, sacrifice, and estranged relationships intertwine as we take a strikingly sinister tumble through a pop star’s haunted past. Hathaway is truly giving mother.

Anne Hathaway has quite the year lined up. First returning for The Devil Wears Prada 2 in May, hopping over to creepy suburbia in The End of Oak Street, and joining the elite cast of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey this summer—girl is booked and busy. In this delectable new trailer at Mother Mary, she joins Skye Riley and Lady Raven in the growing troupe of horror pop stars. This clip is far more ambiguous than the first, but enthralling, nonetheless.

The trailer begins with Hathaway emerging on stage. It debuts the original song “My Mouth Is Lonely For You,” performed by Hathaway herself. She owns the stage, perfectly encapsulating what it means to be mother. Stylistic and delightfully misleading, it’s everything we would expect from an A24 thriller. The trailer is short and sweet, and it’s not until the last fifteen seconds that we see things take a sinister turn. The tone shifts drastically. We’re no longer at a fun pop concert. Instead, glimpses of blood on the sheets, a deep wound on someone’s hand, Hathaway running down a corridor of doors. It almost carries a witchy or cultish undertone.

The first trailer came in December 2025, leaving us with more questions than answers. The cast includes Anne Hathaway, Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Alba Baptista, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs. It features original songs by Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff, and FKA Twigs.

A24 has seriously been putting in the work lately. And Mother Mary looks just delightful. I heard someone describe it as a Vox Lux’d Black Swan psycho drama, and honestly, so valid. Realistically, anything in which I get to see Anne Hathaway serving mother has me hooked. Mother Mary hits theaters in Spring 2026.
