Whether you’re already a fan of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, or you’re yet to discover the weird wonders of 2000 AD, the cult British comics publisher has a treat for you this summer. You might have heard of the upcoming 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special, which will, for the first time in 2000 AD’s 41-year history, have an all-female roster of writers, artists, colorists, and letterers. The event will include an array of radical stories featuring Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Psi-Judge Anderson, and DeMarco, P.I., written by the likes of Alex De Campi, Maura McHugh, Tillie Walden, Katy Rex, Laura Bailey (and many more) and adorned with covers from Tula Lotay and Emily Zeinner! To celebrate the groundbreaking special, 2000 AD gave us the chance to exclusively reveal this fantastic 2000 AD Summer Special poster from Marguerite Sauvage!
We love Sauvage’s take on the iconic telepath and all-around badass Judge Anderson. It’s a gorgeous hint at the treat we’ll get when we open the pages of the 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special, which will hit shops on July 11. (You can pre-order it from your local comic shop right now!)
When the book was announced, 2000 AD’s editor Matt Smith stated enthusiastically “I’m especially excited to welcome a group of new creators to 2000 AD, most of whom are making their debuts at the House of Tharg. This year’s historic Sci-Fi Special is going to be packed with unique voices and amazing talent.”
Are you happy to see more women in the pages of your favorite sci-fi magazine? Just wanna see Tillie Walden in freaking 2000 AD? Still waiting on the sequel to Dredd? Jump on your Lawmaster and let us know!!
