OREO and Coca-Cola Merge to Create Carbonated Cookies and Chocolate Soda

Bad news for Dr. Frankenstein. The mad scientist has nothing on Coca-Cola and Oreo after the new partnership between the soda giant and the beloved treat. The iconic brands have teamed up for two sweet limited-edition products that celebrate each signature item. You’ll soon be able to wash down an OREO Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookie with a Coca-Cola OREO Zero Sugar.

Coca-Cola and OREO have gone “Besties Mode” for two products that sound as weird as they do intriguing.

The new limited-edition OREO Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookie features a red and black color-blocked design on “unique basecakes.” The chocolate base cake also features Coca-Cola syrup. The other side, a red-colored golden cookie, comes embossed with Coca-Cola designs. Between them rests Oreo’s signature white-colored creme. And if that wasn’t enough, these desserts come with popping candies that the companies say result in a “fizz” sensation.

Forget drinking them with milk, though. To truly embrace this Franken-food crossover you’ll want to sip on a Coca-Cola OREO Zero Sugar. The limited-time beverage is called a “smooth fusion of a refreshing Coca-Cola taste with flavorful hints inspired by OREO cookies.” (Chocolate soda isn’t really that weird. Actually dipping Coke-flavored cookies in it will be, though.)

OREO and Coca-Cola also got some other brands in on the fun. Fans can search Spotify for the “Bestie Mode Digital Experience.” It’s an “exclusive platform and musical experience designed by Spotify for you and your bestie to merge music tastes and enjoy together.”

Forever21 in the U.S. will also launch a “Bestie Mode” collection. It will include tops, socks, tote bags, cosmetics bags, drinkware, and notebooks, all for under $20 each. The line will go on sale in mid-September at select Forever 21 stores and Forever21.com. That’s right after the Coca-Cola cookies and Orea soda hit shelves nationwide on September 9.

If you want to ensure you get your hands on both the Oreo x Coca-Cola creations you can pre-order early at Walmart.com starting on September 2. If you just want the cookies you can also head to www.oreo.com/presale on that day.

As for Dr. Frankenstein, we’ll have to wait and see how he tries to top this.
