AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA Trailer Teases a Stunning Open-World Game

Ubisoft shared its Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 12. Among its upcoming titles, the video game publisher showed off the trailer Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (via GameSpot). Set in the world of James Cameron’s design, the stunning game takes place in a new location on the moon: the Western Frontier of Pandora. Players play a character who was born Na’vi but raised and trained by the RDA. This Na’vi was put into a 15-year cryosleep and awakens ready to explore Pandora for the first time—and ready to fight against the RDA. The below trailer blends cinematic footage with gameplay to show off what’s to come.

What I like most about this trailer is that it makes me feel like I’m riding Avatar Flight of Passage. The theme park ride in Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom gave me a new perspective of the lush moon. One the movies haven’t captured for me. In the ride, you fly across Pandora’s surface as a Na’vi on an ikran, or a banshee. It’s the kind of attraction that envelopes and transports you. This trailer for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has the same effect; you feel like you’re part of the world.

Ubisoft shared the below description of the game:

Set after the events of the first Avatar film, you’ll embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen continent of Pandora, as you join other Na’vi clans to protect Pandora from the formidable forces of the RDA. Created in collaboration with Disney and James Cameron’s production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, you will experience a first-person open-world action-adventure game exclusively developed to maximize the power of new-gen consoles and PC.
