Kathleen Kennedy Wants to ‘Eventise’ STAR WAR Movies, Like the JAMES BOND Franchise

We recently got news of three new Star Wars movies in the works. These include a movie that heads far, far back into galactic history, to the very discovery of the Force, a movie that unites all the current Disney+ series, and a movie that brings back Daisy Ridley’s Rey on a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order. That’s a lot to look forward to—but what’s the timeline for seeing these movies come to life? Well, Kathleen Kennedy recently shared with Empire that she’s thinking on the scale of one Star Wars movie every three to four years. That way, each can really become an event onto itself. Here’s what Kennedy had to say in full.

When can we expect new star wars movies, Rey will return in new film

“I’ve often brought up Bond,” Kennedy noted in a conversation about how and when to best release new Star Wars movies. “That’s every three or four years, and there wasn’t this pressure to feel like you had to have a movie every year. I feel that was very important to Star Wars. We have to eventise this… It’s much better to tell the truth, that we’re going to make these movies when they’re ready to be made and release them when they’re ready to be released.”

Empire further notes, “The simple answer is, nothing is likely to hit the multiplexes until at least 2025.” That feels like a long time to wait for more Star Wars movies to arrive. But in the words of Yoda, “Patience you must have, my young Padawan.”
