It is time to get back into the kitchen. And not just to cook, but to do battle. Netflix’s Iron Chef reboot is heading for us and it’s getting the gang back together. Iron Chef America‘s original host Alton Brown returns to host the upcoming Netflix series. Additionally, another culinary hero, Top Chef winner, and fan-favorite, Kristen Kish, joins him in the fray. Mark Dacascos, a.k.a The Chairman, will also get in on the action again. But that’s not all, an all-star line-up of Iron Chefs is returning to the kitchen. And joining them are some fierce Competitor Chefs, some of whom you might recognize from, you guessed it, Top Chef.
Alongside Brown, Kish, and Dacascos come our competitors. According to People:
Among the five returning Iron Chefs are Michelin-starred TV chef Curtis Stone, celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, cookbook author Gabriela Camara, Emmy Award-winning chef Ming Tsai and multi-Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn.
These are a talented bunch. But they won’t be in the kitchen alone. Challenger Chefs have arrived to give them a run for their money. And this excellent line-up includes “Mason Hereford, Curtis Duffy, Claudette Zepeda, Esther Choi, Gregory Gourdet, Mei Lin, and Yia Vang.” Gourdet and Lin, of course, also hail from Top Chef. Mei Lin won her season of the show against Gregory Gourdet. And Gourdet went on to appear again in an All-Stars season where he was also a finalist. Both were beloved by fans and made some seriously good-looking food. We can’t wait to see them reunite and watch them and the other Challengers Chefs take on the Iron powerhouses.

We all love a good cooking show. And there’s no doubt that Iron Chef is one of the true originals in that sphere. We look forward to all the dining delight of any food-based competition plus the overwhelming intensity of an extreme sport. You can’t get that just anywhere. Plus the charisma of the hosts makes this show one not to miss out on. Anyone who has watched Top Chef knows that Kish is a delight and incredibly talented herself. Alton Brown, of course, needs no introduction.
Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend premieres on June 15.
