HANNA Season 2 Gets a Teaser and Premiere Date

There’s more to the Utrax system than meets the eye. Amazon announced on Wednesday that Hanna‘s second season will premiere on Prime Video on July 3. That is so soon, but you don’t have to wait long at all to see a glimpse of what’s to come. They also dropped a teaser trailer, and though it is brief, it makes us want more Hanna right now. All eight episodes will be available to watch when it premieres, and good thing too, because this season sounds like you won’t be able to watch just one episode.

For those just catching up with this show, let us tell you more. The official synopsis: “Hanna follows the journey of an extraordinary young woman, as she evades the relentless pursuit of a sinister government agency and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.”

It’s never good when a government agency is involved is it? Ahead of the season two premiere, Amazon released a short overview of what viewers can expect in the show’s sophomore season. “Following her discovery at the end of season one, Hanna now knows she is not the only young woman with unparalleled skill and elite training. The Utrax program has produced a whole contingent of highly trained teenagers whose development is about to reach the lethal ‘second phase.’

Esmé Creed-Miles reprises the title role of Hanna and Mireille Enos returns as CIA operative Marissa Wiegler. Plus this season introduces Dermot Mulroney as Utrax overseer John Carmichael.

While the teaser trailer may only be 30 seconds long, you already get a sense that Mulroney’s character is most likely, definitely not a good guy and Creed-Miles’s character is not having it. Watching on a big monitor, you see that this agency has dozens of young trainees at their disposal. Yikes. Evil government, teenage spies, and Dermot Mulroney?! Season two sounds like a wild ride.

David Farr (The Night Manager) co-wrote season two of Hanna; he also co-wrote the original 2011 Joe Wright directed film. Paul Waters, Laura Lomas, Nina Segal, and Charlotte Hamblin penned scripts for the upcoming season too. David Farr, Eva Husson, and Ugla Hauksdóttir are directing. Hanna season two sounds like it’ll be a perfect summer show for audiences at home who are craving adventure but may have to wait a little longer to see big summer blockbusters on the big screen.
