FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Inspires a New Generation of Fan Art

Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally here on the PlayStation 4, and we think it’s fun as hell. The absolutely stunning graphics, timely tale, and revamped combat system manage to turn a game we’ve played before into a completely new experience. And our journey through Midgar is just getting started; this is just the first episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The developers told Nerdist they consciously made the decision to split the game into episodes to take players even deeper into the familiar world and characters.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Characters

Final Fantasy VII Remake is the story of Cloud, a mercenary with a huge sword (not a euphemism) who has joined up with a small rebel group attempting to sabotage the Shinra Electric Power Company. He’s not along for the ride for any political or personal reasons; he’s just the hired muscle. While players of Final Fantasy VII probably know the opening scenes in Midgar by heart, Remake gives them the time to learn more about the others in the group that they saw all too briefly in the original game. (Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie have gained a lot of new fans as a result.)

Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and friends have never looked better, and it’s easy to see why they’re quickly inspiring a new age of fan art. From paintings worthy of hanging in a museum to cute and hilarious chibi-style drawings, there’s already a dazzling collection of Final Fantasy VII Remake fan art to pore over. Here are just a few of our favorites that we’ve found so far.
