THE WITCHER Soundtrack Now Available on Spotify

UPDATE: Keep all your coins for your witcher. You can now stream the entire (and massive) season one soundtrack for The Witcher on Spotify. It includes 100 (ONE HUNDRED) songs from the show.

I’m not “cool.” Never was, never will be, and that’s the way I like it. Trying to stay on top of what’s popular is exhausting. I’d much rather spend 2,500 words breaking down the history and timeline of a fictional world than keep up-to-date with the latest trends. But every once in a while sometimes what I like just so happens to become a hit with the masses too. That’s what has happened with Netflix’s first season of The Witcher. I am just one of many who loved it, especially its amazing soundtrack. I believe the kids would say the show’s music is a real “banger.” (Right? Right?) And soon they’ll be able to listen to the entire thing on Spotify.

But you don’t have to wait at all to hear its breakout hit, a song too good for a fleeting epithet such as “cool.” You can stream Jaskier the Bard’s “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” right now.

Netflix announced that on Friday, January 24, the official soundtrack for The Witcher will finally be available to stream at Spotify. Even though that’s only a month after the show premiered on the streaming site, it’s still been far too long a delay. The music for the show was consistently fantastic and we neeeed it to be easily accessible.

Especially since my brain, like many others, has basically been nothing more than a single track jukebox for “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” since hearing it for the first time. Jaskier’s exaggerated ditty about how Geralt saved him from the elves in the show’s second episode is not just a great song within the context of the show. It’s a great song period. On any continent. In any world.

The show’s soundtrack was written by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli. While a full track list has not yet been provided, we do know some of the original songs that should be included:

  • The Song Of The White Wolf
  • Toss A Coin To Your Witcher
  • Geralt of Rivia
  • Her Sweet Kiss
  • The End’s Beginning
  • The Last Rose Of Cintra
  • Calm Before The Storm
  • Gwynbleidd
  • The Wolf’s Path
  • Ufrior

The life of a witcher seems like a cruel fate. They are outcasts in a place that plucked them from their homes as children. They roam the land fighting monsters no one else will face. And the reward for their bravery is fear, hatred, and distrust.

And yet, we’d be willing to grab our swords, talk to our horse, and battle a striga if the show’s soundtrack was playing. The music is epic. It makes us think we could stand against all of Nilfgaard ourselves.

We’d prefer to toss on the show’s soundtrack though. It’s what all the cool kids are going to be doing. And all of the uncool ones too.
