WONDER PARK Trailer Offers the Amusements of Your Dreams, Under Siege

Hoping to stand out from the big game glut, Paramount dropped their trailer for the animated Wonder Park this morning, and it looks to be a modern take on Alice in Wonderland, but with a theme park. Young June likes to create her own thrill rides, sometimes at the expense of the rest of her neighborhood, and she imagines an entire amusement world of her own full of the coolest rides that in some cases could never possibly exist in real life. (A zero-G simulator that does not involve vomit-inducing vertical drops would be nice, but probably only feasible in outer space.)

This being a cartoon, anything can happen, and the park she imagines becomes both real and populated by talking animals. Unfortunately, it’s also falling apart due to neglect, and now she’s going to have to figure out how to save it.

Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Kenan Thompson and Ken Jeong are among the voices you may recognize, while the soundtrack, despite the notable presence of Poison in the trailer, will aim squarely at parents, featuring Rachel Platten, The Gin Blossoms, Juliana Hatfield, Flasher, Will Turpin, Hippo Campus, The Struts feat Kesha,  Belly, Compulsion, Maroon 5, Sebadoh, and Toad the Wet Sprocket. There is no credited director.

Frankly, though, they sold us with the phrase “Chimpan-zombies.” Especially since they look like evil Teletubbies.
