New JOKER Movie Details Have Been Revealed

Wonder Woman 1984 may have vacated its 2019 release date, but as far as we know, Todd Phillips’ Joker movie is still on target to reach comic book movie fans next year. And with the movie still filming, the set has proven to be a source of hints and early sneak peeks. Today’s Nerdist News rounds up the latest Joker updates, and they’re sure to terrorize Gotham City.[brightcove video_id=”5852546075001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”rJs2ZD8x”]Join host Jessica Chobot as she goes over some of the first concrete details from Joker cast member Shea Whigham. Whigham revealed to Collider he’s playing a Gotham City cop in 1981. He also indicated the investigation his character is performing may prove to be very important the film’s story. Perhaps it will lead to the Joker’s incarceration, since Joaquin Phoenix’s title character has also been spotted in the back of a cop car. But if this iteration is anything like Heath Ledger’s Joker, then he may be exactly where he wants to be.Also, an early picture of Brett Cullen’s Thomas Wayne has surfaced on Just Jared. He looks a bit like Alec Baldwin, who was initially going to play the elder Wayne.
