Mission: Impossible – Fallout , now available on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and 4K UHD, was a stunner of a blockbuster, an adrenaline-fueled high-wire act full of mind-blowing stunts, and one of the best movies of 2018. Tom Cruise continues to top himself in each progressive M:I film, but have you ever stopped and wondered just how the franchise keeps raising the stakes? Paramount Pictures recently sent Nerdist’s Erika Ishii to the desert of Thermal, CA to talk to the Mission: Impossible – Fallout stunt team and to try some moves of her own!Erika sat down with famed stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood, motorcycle stuntwoman Jenny Tinmouth, and helicopter instructor Marc Wolff to discuss Fallout‘s craziest sequences, like that breathless helicopter scene, where Tom Cruise actually piloted the camera-rigged aircraft. When asked how they plan to top the action in the next film, Eastwood admitted he was already nervous. “As long as the story drives, that’s the most important thing,” he added.[brightcove video_id=”5979769863001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”rJs2ZD8x”]Erika also got behind the wheel at the BMW Performance Driving Center (after an afternoon of professional instruction, of course), and later flew through the California sky in a helicopter just like the one in the film.Fans eager to revisit Ethan Hunt on his latest impossible journey don’t have to wait any longer, since Mission: Impossible – Fallout is now available on Blu-ray, 4K UHD, DVD and Digital HD.Editor’s note: Today’s episode of Nerdist News Edition is sponsored by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
