If you’re a candy fanatic, chances are you’re well-acquainted with Japanese Kit Kats. The beloved Nestlé candy first appeared in the country in 1973, and expanded wildly from there. Not fit to stick to simple milk chocolate, Japanese Kit Kats became known for their many creative flavors, most of them available exclusively in Japan. In fact, they’ve created more than 350 different types of Kit Kats in the last 45 years! To celebrate that 45 year anniversary, Nestlé is releasing an exclusive box containing 35 of the most popular Japanese Kit Kat flavors, called the Kit Kat Japan Sales 45th Anniversary Assortment box. Due to the uniqueness and regional aspect of many of the flavors, most of these have never been available in the same place at the same time, which makes this box an especially sought-after commodity for candy collectors. The standout flavor is Strawberry Tiramisu, which is notable for being created after winning a massive worldwide poll earlier this year. Over half a million people participated in the poll, and Strawberry Tiramisu hit shelves in Japan on November 19.The anniversary box is split into three tiers. The first, Popular Classics, contains flavors like the original milk chocolate, “Adult Sweetness,” “The Power of Matcha,” and “Everyday Luxury.” The next tier, Kit Kat Chocolatory, features “Sublime Bitter,” “I Heart Fruits” in flavors strawberry, yuzu, passionfruit, raspberry, and cassis, along with a special flavor in strawberry maple. The third tear, Regional Series, has the most bizarre selection, with flavors like purple sweet potato, adzuki red bean paste sandwich, shinshu apple, and tamaruya honten wasabi. The boxes are currently available in Kit Kat Chocolatory stores throughout Japan and for purchase online.Would you try any or all of these unique Kit Kat flavors?
