Tom Holland is most famous for playing a web-slinging superhero. But we don’t know what to make of his character in the upcoming new series at Apple TV+ The Crowded Room. The Crowded Room‘s first trailer promises a story of intrigue about a man with some pretty dark secrets and missing loved ones. Does that mean he’s a murderer? Or is he just another victim trapped in a dangerous world? We’ll have to watch to find out who he really is. We already know one thing Tom Holland’s character is guilty of, though: he’s guilty of having some pretty serious bangs.
“Tom Holland, but make him the living embodiment of men’s hair in 1979.” Nailed it.
As much as we’d like to discuss in great depth late ’70s hair care products for men, there’s a lot more to this intense and unsettling The Crowded Room trailer than Spider-Man’s newfound flow. Here’s the show’s official synopsis from Apple TV+:
The Crowded Room follows Danny Sullivan (Holland), a man who is arrested following his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. A captivating thriller told through a series of interviews with curious interrogator Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried), Danny’s life story unfolds, revealing elements of the mysterious past that shaped him, and the twists and turns that will lead him to a life-altering revelation.
The limited series, created by Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), also stars Emmy Rossum, Sasha Lane, Will Chase, Lior Raz, Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, Thomas Sadoski, and Zachary Golinger. The ten-episode season will debut with its first three installments on Friday, June 9, 2023. New episodes of The Crowded Room will then follow at Apple TV+ every Friday.
That gives us eight wonderful weeks of Holland Hair. And, we imagine, a pretty interesting murder mystery starring one of Hollywood’s best young actors. That’s almost as good a reason to watch as those bangs.
