MORTAL KOMBAT 1 Game Trailer Shows the Franchise’s Fatal New Era

A new era of Mortal Kombat gaming is upon us. Back in 2019, we got Mortal Kombat 11 and fans have been patiently waiting for a new installment since then. Now, there’s not only another Mortal Kombat game on the way but a reboot of the franchise as a whole. Therefore, this new game is simply titled Mortal Kombat 1 and the announcement trailer is quite the spectacle to behold.

This new version of the Mortal Kombat universe takes place in the New Era timeline established by Liu Kang after he ascended to godhood in the eleventh installment. But do not worry. This game will still pack in all the violence, gore, and fun that we’ve loved for decades.

Mortal Kombat 1 pre-orders will go live on May 19 at 10AM PT and with the game releasing on September 19. The PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S versions will go for $69.99 while the Premium and Kollector’s Editions are $109.99 and $249.99.

Speaking of those special editions, one of the many perks of them is the Kombat Pack, which will include a Johnny Cage character skin in the likeness of Jean-Claude Van Damme. As fans know, the famous actor and martial artist was the original inspiration for Cage. That makes us even more excited to dive into this world.

It is time for more fatalities.
