Michael B. Jordan has hardly been quiet about his love for anime. Rooster Teeth released the first trailer for gen:LOCK on Thursday, and it launches right into the world with war, action, and human-mech melding. The footage sets an energetic tone for the anime from the producers of RWBY. Bring on the weaponized neuroscience.Original post:

Today Rooster Teeth shared a short new clip from the show which highlights the mech-heavy action that will be at the core of the story. With the arrival of the teaser we thought it was a good time to look at the other shorts that Rooster Teeth have shared, each introducing a new character, starting with Jordan’s Julian Chase.

The first short features Tennant’s Dr. Weller discussing Jordan’s Chase with Rial’s Colonel Marin. It establishes the serious tone and high-tech action that seems like it will be at the core of the show.

The second clip introduces Golshifteh Farahani’s Yasmin Madrani’s rebellious combat pilot, as well as expanding on the cultural context of the world in which the show exists.

Next up is Maisie William’s Cameron McCloud and KÅichi Yamadera Kazu Iida, a cyber security genius, and gunner respectively, Tennant’s Weller seems very excited about both, and this video also gives us a better look at some of the inner workings of the mech which our protagonists will pilot.

Last but not least is Asia Kate Dillion’s Valentina Romanyszyn, a Ukrainian covert agent, and Blaine Gibson’s Rob Sinclair who is simply referred too as a specialist. This final video teases the greater war which is dividing the world of gen:LOCK.We can’t wait to see MBJ bring Julian to life when the show premieres January 26, 2019 on Rooster Teeth.
