ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM Delivers Flawless Final Trailer, Reveals Matt Mercer’s Ganondorf

Some games, you can just feel have that special something. And the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives us precisely those feelings. The whole thing reminds us of a Studio Ghibli movie. (And that is high praise.) The floating music, the sweeping sceneries, the epic adventures we glimpse, they all come together to form a perfect whole. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases in May. But honestly, that feels too far away.

Although previous Tears of the Kingdom trailers have shown off the beauty and cleverness of this Zelda game, all its parts come together in this final tease to give us a worthy whole. The vistas have never been more open. The horse riding has never felt grander. And, of course, the evil we’ll face as Link has never felt crueler. This Tears of the Kingdom trailer finally gives us our first look at the villainous Ganondorf in this Zelda outing.

The Demon King is here to infect the beauty of Hyrule. And that’s bad. But he carries with him a familiar voice that Critical Role fans will recognize and cheer on. Yes, Matt Mercer is voicing Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Mercer revealed his excitement and love of the character in his announcement of the role.

Regardless of who is voicing Ganondorf, he will be hard to beat. Link is the kingdom’s only hope yet again. But, of course, he’ll be joined by friends, new and old. And the most important one, of course, yours. In addition to all its beauty and plot, the trailer shows off a lot of ingenious gameplay. It’s time to get creative, problem solve, and battle your way to heroic triumph.
