When it comes to today’s rising actresses to watch, Ella Purnell certainly needs to be in the conversation. After her turn as the ill-fated Jackie on SHOWTIME’s smash series Yellowjackets, Purnell’s career has been anything but dead. She starred in one of our favorite TV shows this year, Fallout, as well as Starz’s dark comedy Sweetpea, which just scored a season two renewal.
For those who aren’t familiar with the series, Ella Purnell plays Rihannon Lewis, who is often ignored and disrespected. She basically spirals and decides to make everyone pay by murdering them. As Variety reports, season two of Sweetpea will see “Lewis return with a vengeance as her killer secret continues to spiral, and she becomes more twisted than ever.” Very, very interesting. In a world where far too many shows don’t get their fair shake, it is nice to see this one making a return.
