The Sounds of Numenera Will Take You on an Adventure

Since 2013, tabletop role-players have been able to explore Monte Cook’s Numenera and discover the many fantastic elements of the Ninth World that was once our own. Now, a new Kickstarter campaign is offering fans a chance to experience Numenera as never before, thanks to new audio tracks created by Wes and Michelle Otis of Plate Mail Games.

The Numenera Audio Collection campaign is currently running well past its initial fund-raising goal, as it aims to bring a 120-track collection to fans that will evoke the locations within the Numenera books. The main collection consists of 80 tracks that run 10 minutes each, and they are intended to be played when certain locations are reached within the game. The tracks are meant to enhance the gameplay without overpowering it, and they can be placed on a loop or simply advanced when the players move to the next setting.

An additional 16 tracks have been unlocked as stretch goals, while the remaining 24 stretch goal tracks have yet to be unleashed. If all 120 tracks are released, then the collection will include 20 hours of audio. Let’s just say that you won’t be running low on listening material any time soon!

For $60, backers will receive the 80 standard tracks and all of the unlocked stretch goal tracks. That’s the highest backer tier in the campaign, but fans also have the option of picking lower pledges for fewer tracks. The estimated delivery date for the tracks is October 2017.
