Warning: The following contains spoilers for the end of Star Wars: Rebels!
Star Wars Rebels has, sadly, come to close this week, after four seasons and 75 episodes. But man, that ending sure had us begging for more. The final moments alone revealed so many things—Ahsoka lives! Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn live! (But are missing in deep space!) Hera and Kanan have a child! Sabine has a badass new haircut! So much to take in, and all in such a short time.
Luckily, after a screening of the final three episodes, our very own Amy Ratcliffe moderated a Q&A with Rebels creator and executive producer Dave Filoni, along with cast members Vanessa Marshall (Hera Syndulla), Tiya Sircar (Sabine Wren), Steve Blum (Zeb Orellios), Taylor Gray (Ezra Bridger). Sadly, Freddie Prinze Jr.was not there, but those of us who are caught up with all the episodes know why. (Sniff…) You can watch the entire Q&A above, thanks to Inside the Magic .
Among the revelations in this panel, we find out that actor Taylor Gray didn’t even know about Hera and Kanan having a child until he saw the episode. (“They had a kid?” was the very first thing Taylor Gray said as the panel began, to which Filoni responded, “Yeah, people do that sometimes.”)
Another long-awaited revelation: the voice of Chopper, and it turned out to be Dave Filoni himself. “Show’s over,” Filoni said on coming clean after so long. “So it was kind of then or never.” Evidently, not everyone was thrilled by the news: “I’ll have you know, at Star Wars Celebration a little tiny child asked me who played Chopper. I absolutely told her the truth, and she never said anything. Probably because it was disappointing.”
For more cool revelations—and maybe even some hints about the future—be sure to watch the whole one-hour panel.
