Twitter Ships Pennywise and the Babadook’s True Love

Pennywise and Babadook, sittin’ in a tree. K-I-L-L-S-S-I-N-G!”

One is the world’s most terrifying clown, currently ruling the box office and scaring the bejeezus out of everyone in It. The other is the somewhat lesser know, yet equally terrifying, self titled monster from the indie Australian horror film. And the internet wants them to know it is high time these two got together and made their forever love known to the world.

Thanks to The Spin, we’ve learned that the latest “ship” that Twitter has taken a shine to is for the evil Pennywise the Dancing Clown to find true love with the Babadook. As some may know, the barely seen star of the indie cult film recently became something of a gay icon, when Netflix, for reasons yet unknown, put The Babadook movie in their LGBT section, leading the internet to proclaim the creature itself an LGBT icon. This took off rather fast, as the Babadook started showing up at Pride marches all over the country this summer. (Or, should I say, people in Babadook cosplay. I think.)

Now I should add, this is not an outcry for actor Bill Skarsgård to date the Babadook, but Pennywise the character. In real life, Bill Skarsgård outside of makeup is pretty darn hot you see. But no, this is a desire to see the two malevolent entities who prey on childhood fears and traumas find true happiness together. You can see some of the fan memes that have been hitting social media down below.

Hopefully the laws in this country won’t change anytime soon, and the two horror icons can still legally wed. (No pressure though, we know you two just started dating).

What do you think of “Pennydook?” Be sure to give us your thoughts down below in the comments.
