STRANGER THINGS Renewed for Season 3, Will Probably End with Season 4

It was no surprise, after its tremendously successful first season, when Netflix’s breakout hit Stranger Things was renewed for a second season–one set to come out on Halloween. The good news doesn’t stop there, though: Show creators the Duffer brothers just confirmed that a third season has been confirmed, and that they’re looking to end the show with a fourth season ( via io9).

In a new interview with Vulture, Matt and Ross Duffer said that the show has been approved for a third season, and added that the fourth season would be an ideal place to stop. “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross said. Matt added that at that point, the gang will be approaching college age, so their exploits will have to be different: “We just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

It’s basically impossible to predict where the show is going to go in its fourth season considering the second season hasn’t even premiered yet, but one thing seems certain: For the sake of the kids, they probably shouldn’t stay in Hawkins, Indiana for all that much longer: “They’re going to have to get the f–k out of this town!” Ross said. “It’s ridiculous!”What do you think’s going to happen in the second season? What is Sean Astin’s role going to be? Is Will going to be this season’s villain? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
