We’re getting more murder mysteries! Searchlight Pictures unveiled See How The Run as the title of their upcoming murder mystery film. In addition, they revealed an amazing ensemble cast that features Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, and Adrien Brody. BAFTA award-winner Tom George (This Country) directs, and the original screenplay is by first time writer Mark Chappell.

The film takes place in London’s West End in the 1950s. A desperate Hollywood film producer sets out to turn a popular play into a film. Suddenly, plans for the movie version of the smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a key crew member is murdered. Accordingly, a disenchanted Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and an eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) take on the case. They find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own risk.

The rest of the cast’s ensemble includes Ruth Wilson, Reece Shearsmith, Sian Clifford, Shirley Henderson, Charlie Cooper, Paul Chahidi, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Harris Dickinson, Pearl Chanda, and Pippa Bennet-Warner. See How They Run filmed throughout historic locations in London earlier this year. Some locations used include the Dominion Theatre on Tottenham Court Road, St. Martin’s Theatre in the West End, and the Old Vic Theatre in Waterloo.

The film sounds like an absolute delight, and we are always down for more murder mysteries. However, we’re crossing our fingers that Rockwell gets to do a British accent. Sure there’s already a murder mystery film where a Brit does an American accent, but why miss the chance to make Rockwell a Brit? After the terrible year plus we’ve had, we deserve two amazing actors giving us completely opposite dialects. Amiright?

However, patience is a virtue. Though production recently wrapped in the UK, the film will release sometime in 2022.
