Who would be your dream guests for a spooky Halloween game night? Dracula? Maybe the Mummy? Thanks to Ravensburger and their officially licensed board game Horrified: Universal Monsters, you can have the game night of your dreams (or would that be nightmares?) with some of your favorite classic movie monsters. This collaborative tabletop game for one to five players ages ten and up is the perfect game for a chilly October night.

Spend a Spooky Night In With HORRIFIED: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS_1

Horrified pits you and your friends against seven movie monsters forever etched into pop culture: Dracula, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, and more. Much like how each of those characters are unique, you’ll need to use a specific strategy and complete tasks to take on each of them. Each monster is captured in a colorful miniature, which you can leave unpainted or capture every little detail with the tiniest of paint brushes.

Let Becca Scott tell you all about how to set up the game and play in this episode of How to Play. (And keep an eye out for our friends at Geek & Sundry in a special Painter’s Guild episode featuring these mini monsters this October!)

Even if you don’t consider yourself a gamer, you’ll find something to enjoy in this easy to learn and fun to play board game. Fans of the classic monster movies will adore the Easter eggs hiding in the game components; for example, the villagers are all minor characters from the Universal Monsters movies, including Wilbur and Chick from 1948’s Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

And if you do know your way around the tabletop, you can even change the level of difficulty, making this game a flexible pick to play while you wait for the kids to get home from trick-or-treating. (And then you can play it again with them when they get home!)

Horrified: Universal Monsters is now available at your friendly local game store and major retailers for a retail price of $34.99.
