We owe a lot to television. Either that or we’re suffering from the highest-grade manifestation of Stockholm Syndrome in recorded history. It’s hard to tell whether TV is a net positive—a supportive companion and proverbial empathy machine! Or if it’s slowly and certainly rotting our minds and souls from the inside out. Either way, we’re in too deep to stop now. So may as well dive headfirst into this year’s Emmy season. What else are we gonna do? Garden? Practice archery? Don’t be ridiculous.

Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

On Tuesday morning, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences sets out to unveil the varied programs and programmers whose excellence in will be formally recognized among the medium.
