Chris Evans hasn’t just finished filming on Avengers 4, he’s most likely wrapped on playing Captain America forever. But you can’t keep a good soldier down, because instead of taking some much earned R&R after eight years of protecting the world, he’s signed on to co-star alongside Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson‘s modern day, Agatha Christie-inspired murder mystery Knives Out. Deadline reports that fresh off of Evans seemingly fond farewell to the Avengers and the MCU, he will join director Rian Johnson’s first film since The Last Jedi. He is the second big name attached to appear in the film. It was only last month we told you Daniel Craig will play a brilliant detective in the movie, which was also written by Johsnon.Specifics about the film’s plot are still unknown, but it will be greatly influenced by the director’s love of Agatha Christie novels. Filming is expected to begin this year, before Craig shoots the ever-delayed Bond 25. While we don’t know what role Evans will have, after playing the ultimate good guy in Steve Rogers, could he have been attracted to the movie because it will let him do something very different? Could he end up being the movie’s main villain? That would be an interesting change, and Scott Pilgrim fans know how much fun he can be as a bad guy. And we’re going to need some fun next year if Captain America really does die.
