People trapped inside. Entire towns in lockdown. A global threat that endangers everyone. Most of us don’t have any experience dealing with any of this. But the stars of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End know a lot about surviving disasters. Now Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have offered up a plan to help us all defeat the coronavirus. It involves doing what Shaun and Ed should have done during a zombie outbreak—stay home and away from any bars. And that includes the Winchester.

Pegg and Frost teamed up for a very funny COVID-19 quarantine-inspired video titled “The Plan.” In it, they reprise their roles from 2004’s Shaun of the Dead. And that means Ed’s okay! He’s no longer a mindless zombie playing video games in the shed. They apparently found a cure, and he’s back to being a mindless human playing video games from his couch.

Also, since he said he needed to call her, Shaun’s mom is apparently alive. That’s great. Barbara was so nice, and she and Liz had only just met. Philip is fine too. Hopefully him and Shaun have built on the breakthrough they had before Philip’s transformation.

But given the lack of mention, it seems David is still dead. That’s fine.

But Shaun of the Dead canon aside (and we are absolutely treating this as canon now, especially since we never got that vampire sequel), there’s a real message here everyone needs to remember right now. Especially those who don’t seem to understand why social distancing is so important. Here’s the plan from Pegg:

“If you can, stay at home, have a cup of tea, and wait for all this to blow over. Above all, don’t be a twat about things. We’re all in this together. Don’t be selfish. Look after each other. Give someone a call if you think they might be over.”

Exactly. “Don’t be a twat.” That’s always good advice, but it could save lives now.

Although we’d add one more thing to this plan—stop hoarding toilet. We probably wouldn’t be worried about that during a zombie apocalypse, but we need some now. Yay booooy!
