Movie trailers generally elicit one of two responses: they either make you want to see the film, or they don’t. That’s why they exist, to sell you on something else. But in rare cases, they’re a work of art unto themselves. That’s the only way to describe the totally unexpected trailer for No Way Up. If you haven’t seen it yet, stop right now and watch it here, because, in a moment, we’re going to talk about its out-of-control twist.

Good to go? Great.

Right! Needless to say, we could not possibly be any more excited to watch a plane-crash-turned-deep-sea-disaster-that-is-secretly-a-shark-attack-movie than we already are. But until it flies/crashes/swims into theaters and digital, we can enjoy this exclusive clip from the film. Get ready for “Sharks on a Plane” by experiencing that shocking revelation along with No Way Up‘s characters.

“What the f***’s a shark doing on a plane?”

Put it on my tombstone. Now. I’m not sick or anything, just go ahead and order it today so I can appreciate it while I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere until I see the absurdity that is No Way Up anyway. And don’t think I’m insulting the movie by describing it as absurd. It knows exactly what it is and what it’s trying to do. Here’s the official description of the film:

Directed by Claudio Fäh, No Way Up is a truly bonkers ride featuring a startling combination of phobias – a plane crash! Killer sharks! And a group of strangers that need to band together to figure out how to escape the very precarious situation they’ve found themselves in. It’s from the producers of 47 meters down – and has elements of Snakes on a Plane, Sharknado, and other cult favorites that marry absurdity with genuine stakes and survival drama.
