Get ready for some potentially huge Biosyn and InGen drama in the upcoming 2021 Jurassic Park: Dominion. A familiar character from Jurassic Park is returning to the franchise: Lewis Dodgson (a doctor in Michael Crichton’s novel). The head of Biosyn’s head of development in the original film, Dodgson appeared in a memorable scene. He was the shady man (figuratively and literally, as he wore sunglasses) who met with corrupt InGen IT tech Dennis Nedry (played by Wayne Knight). Dodgson hatched the plan to steal the dinosaur embryos. He wanted to help Biosyn compete in the dinosaur cloning game. And he brought the the now iconic fake can of Barbasol shaving cream to store the embryos.

According to their sources, Collider says a new face will play Dodgson. Actor Campbell Scott (House of Cards, Damages) will take on the role. Dodgson has since become the CEO of Biosyn Genetics. Other familiar faces from Jurassic Park will join Dodgson: Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern).

Many of the details surrounding Scott’s character are under wraps, but Dodgson was sketchy in the original film. It’s probably safe to say he won’t be a good guy. Maybe he’ll even be the primary villain.

Jurassic Park: Dominion was four weeks into production when the COVID-19 pandemic caused them to shut down. Recently, they announced production will resume on the project, starting July 6th at London’s Pinewood studios. They have recently put new COVID-19 safety protocols to make the set safer for cast and crew. Life certainly does seem to find a way.

Cameron Thor, who played the original Dodgson in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park in 1993 is currently serving a six year prison sentence after being convicted of child sex offenses in 2016.
