Many of us who are avid readers often re-purchase fancy, hardcover versions of our favorite books. Often just to decorate our shelves. After all, these gilded hardcovers are sometimes works of art in and of themselves. Now, one TikToker has taken artsy hardcover editions of some of her favorite books, and beautified them even more.
On the TikTok account Bri Marie Paints, the artist paints detailed art on the pages of classic novels, hidden on the fore-edge. In other words, you can only see the artwork when you angle the pages in a certain way. And the result is absolutely stunning. You can check out some of our favorite examples right here:

Set to the tune of Howard Shore’s music from The Lord of the Rings, Bri Mario Paints has created a gorgeous image of Rivendell onto the fore-edges. On the other two sides, we get an image of Bilbo’s home in the Shire, and another of the One Ring.
The images used for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland are pretty much what one would expect. But that makes them no less lovely. We saw Alice falling down the rabbit hole, as well as the Cheshire Cat. Although they use music from the Disney classic, we would have probably gone with Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit.” Or even Lady Gaga’s “Alice.”
Although Atticus Finch is nowhere to be seen, this is nevertheless an evocative image for To Kill a Mockingbird. And we can’t really argue with the musical choice, as the use of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” is a “chef’s kiss” choice.
A lot of folks only know Outlander as a television series. But it was a popular series of novels first. Diana Gabaldon’s characters of Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall adorn the gilded pages of the first Outlander book.
