Who knew babysitting was the easiest gateway to becoming an expert monster hunter? A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is coming to Netflix complete with an all-around awesome creative team. The film is based on the first book in Joe Ballarini’s series of the same name and, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, will star Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch) as Kelly Ferguson.

In the book, the novice babysitter’s first assignment goes awry when the kid is kidnapped by the Boogeyman. Talk about terrible luck. Kelly encounters a secret society of babysitters who will do anything to protect kids, including wielding weapons to fight off a ton of monsters. There’s also an ancient handbook to guide the crew through their quest to defeat the source of every kid’s worst nightmares for good. Netflix recently released a trailer to give us a first look at everyone in action.

Actor Indya Moore, who currently stars in the groundbreaking ball culture series Pose, Oona Laurence (Summer Camp Island), and Harry Potter’s very own Draco Malfoy ( Tom Felton) join Smart to round out the cast.

Moore appears as a magical being in the trailer who may (or may not) want to teach the kids a thing or two about monsters. And, honestly, we already love Tom Felton as an actual Boogeyman who kidnaps unsuspecting children. Thank you Netflix for this blessing.

But wait, it gets even better! Rachel Talalay has been tapped to direct this family-friendly film. Her recent work on Doctor Who, The Chilling Aventures of Sabrina, and Sherlock make her a great fit for this type of movie. A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting will premiere on October 15. It might lead to an epic moment that brings Potterheads, Whovians, and Sherlockians together for one strange (and probably fun) adventure.
